Bandura (Jakub Samochowiec and Stefan Herzog) are a music, producer and DJ duo from Basel, Switzerland. Inspired by funk, breakbeats, trip hop, bossa nova and indietronica sounds, they combine elements of live played instruments with groovy samples, fat beats and crispy analogue goodness to produce a seducing mélange. In 2004 Bandura attracted the attention of the legendary Düsseldorf based label Unique Records and were signed shortly thereafter. Bandura's first single "Gojira" (2005) was received with interest in the scene, reached position 17 in the German trend club charts and sold well in places as far as Japan. In 2006 their song "Lost Luggage" was featured on the fifth volume of Unique Records' successful "The New Testament of Funk" compilation series. They just released their new track "Bermuda Swing" on the RetroLounge°°°-compilation (Universal). Besides producing music, Bandura spin the turntables as Jacques Aubert and Jon Lemon and cast a spell on the crowd with their eclectic DJ sets. Currently they are looking forward to the release of their second single and eagerly working on tracks for a full album to be released.

bandura's 12"-single "gojira" entered the deutsche club charts, reached position 17 and stayed in the charts for seven of the possible maximum eight weeks.
the new track "lost luggage" will be featured on the next "new testament of funk"-compilation which will be released in summer 2006. bandura are currently working on new material for the next 12" release, expected for autumn 2006.
